What does TC 846 mean?
TC 846 generally records that a refund was issued on the tax account. The transcript commonly shows an amount and transaction date with the entry. It is a useful account record, but the code alone does not tell you when your bank will make the funds available.
The issue or deposit date and how you receive a refund matter. A direct deposit can take additional time to appear at a financial institution, while a mailed check has delivery time. Other account entries may also affect the amount available to you.
